Sun calls end of day and with that sign my local juice center says morning to his healthy business of serving juice. I am a regular customer like all others to his mobile shop. Don’t want to sound that I am a healthy customer as I love to inhale some mint smoke in my lungs, Garam Menthol. Hiding my personal likings as it’s a policy on my blog that I don’t talk about myself.

Regular end of day and on my walk towards my flat, I walk few steps ahead before my desired turn towards the juice shop and there was no traces of skin of oranges forget juice and juice maker. I casually thought that it might be a day off for them though it is very unusual and with that unusual thought I plugged my ear phones back and walked my way to my flat. Days passed by and there was no trace of the juice center and suddenly the place looked dead and and finally I asked the shop adjacent to it.
PN: Sirji where is the Juice wala Bhaiya(yeah its a run by bunch of UP guys in Pune :P )
Shop Owner (SO): Areye  sir gaddi  aya tha.
PN: What??
SO: Municipalty ki Gadi, they took the shop(draw back of a mobile shop but building a permanent shop is no joke either, check out the super sonic increasing prices of land in Pune)
I moved on and I knew what it meant. Juice wala guy will have to pay fine/bribe or may be more more to get it his shop back faster.

After the weekend I saw the Juice wala guy standing with a drum and mixer selling juices on the same spot. Make shift small shop serving only delicious chilled Manjo juice.
PN: areye bhaiyaa, hows you….kya haal hai
Juice Wala(JW): mat pucho boss, gaddi leye gayi municipality.
PN: Phir, what is the fix, gaddi kab milega
JW: Pata nahi Sir, Rs. 3000/- manga hai.
PN: Big amount, permanent juggad kuch hai
JW: Filed a license few months ago but no answer, not giving it.
PN: How much for the license.
JW: Rs 40,000 or else they come in 3 or 4 months and pick up your van. Give 2 or 3 thousand and get back your van in a week.
PN: When will you get the van
JW: Thursday, hopefully.
While I was talking and sipping his chilled mango juice, two more customers who were listening had the same expression like mine, WTF. Mean while few customers came and inquired about Mausami and Watermelon juice. JW had to say that he is only serving Mango today and I can see the pain of losing his valuable customers. I waited for Thursday and I was very happy to see his bright yellow shop filled with all cleaned and glowing fruits, once again back on the same spot and right on business.  I was happy for 2 reasons; one JW is back in business after a 3-4 day shutdown and couple of day’s slow sales, second I was not missing my mango juice anymore.

Guess what tomorrow I went as normal after my end of day and the shop was missing once again from the location. JW was sitting with folded hands on the pavement. There was nothing to ask, sometimes your eyes and the lines of frustration on your forehead tell the story.

nice but did he get his licence?

  2. I am not sure about the license but Aditya Juice Wala is up and running and I had my quota of 2 mango shakes :D

  3. To avoid all this, the juice wala must get the license as early as possible.

  4. @CS: sorry my reply comes late but thanks for stopping by and commenting :). Yes even the juice wala wants license but if he gets then the cat and mouse play will end and that the babu's dont want as the extra income for their tea and coffee will end.

    keep rocking,
